Political Murmurs

I considering that a lot of people on the Creationist side of the fence are there mainly because they've always had science presented to them wrongly. One argument I've heard frequently is that science flip-flops, always changing itself, while their religion is static and thus trustworthy. The idea of shifting to fit new evidence as an advantage seems alien to them.

Then I realized these are the same people who make up George W. Bush's base, and the same mentality takes over in politics as well. Bush, and the administration at large, never admit that they are wrong or have made a mistake even in light of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. While John Kerry, because he changed his position on the war in light of new evidence, is characterized as a flip-flopper.
